Having Fun With Baby Blake

Baby Blake has just turned three months old and we have been having a lot of fun with him.  Blake can’t quite sit up yet but he doesn’t seem to mind sitting in buckets!

We still have a few dates open left for holiday family portraits.  Give us a call!

Not your average senior photos

[Editor’s Note: We are soo behind on our blog. We’ll get caught up real soon, we promise!]

I just wanted to show you a stunning shoot we did a few months ago with one of our senior model reps for 2012/2013 Courtney.  We call it “Drown the Gown”.  Not only is she beautiful but the location was perfect. This young girl is amazing and quite talented. I love taking the time to get to know each of my clients and trying to make each session unique and memorable.

As a photographer, there is always the risk of becoming to comfortable in your shooting style and technique. Why would you want to shoot the same thing day in and day out?  I could never have my clients moving in and out of my studio like cattle. What joy and passion I get from designing, planning, prepping and creating something new for each client.  I will admit that I borrow ideas, concepts and moods to recreate, but it will always be my own interpretation and style.

Courtney is also on the Granite Bay high school dance squad and I had a chance to photographer her at the last home game of the season. (Against my old high school, Del Oro) I’m not just here to photograph you for a day, I’m here for all your big moments. I want my clients to think of me as their  photographic diary keeper. Birth to weddings and everything in between. .

Harris Wedding

It was such a privilege to photography the wedding of a long time friend. We have been planning and prepping for this for quite a long time. The Bride was stunning and graceful. It was a fun day not only because it was a good friend but also because of the location. The north steps of the State Capitol was a magical location to get married and we loved every minute of it.

Paul and Ashley, I hope that you have a long and happy life together and can’t wait till I get to photograph your babies when it is time! We love you!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Well it’s been a long hard road to get to this point but I finally made it. With help from friends family and an amazing teacher and father I finally can say….. I’m an Award winning photographer!

Do you remember when I did that Easter shoot with my daughter and her cousins? Well the picture of Shawn got so many comments from family and friends and now from judges! It took first place.

I will have to say I might be a bit biased when it comes to my daughter. She is always first in my mine when thinking about new locations and props (and if she would cooperate, I think you would see more of her). I’m glad to see that others feel the same way. Audrey took second place! Even her backside is a good side!

For my South Placer friends: If you are out and about this weekend, check out the Placer County Fair in Roseville. Be sure and stop by the photography exhibits!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day! I just want to show you a cute little gift that I made for my husband and brother. I got this idea off Pintrest and decided to try it out. I found a frame that had three 5″x7″ openings and I loved how it turned out. I had a hard time getting Audrey to sit still let alone hold any of the letters. Shawn on the other hand did an amazing job. We also tried out a new location down the street from our house. I’m thinking this orchard will be used again shortly.  Anyone want some cool family photos?

Baby Bump!

While it’s wonderful to work with moms-to-be and it’s amusing to capture the exuberance of a toddler, when you combine the two you can actually quadruple the fun-factor! That’s just what happened when Lila showed up with her little boy for her maternity shoot. What a little love-bug Shawn was. One minute he was as serious as a librarian and the next he was as ornery and opinionated as politician and what’s awesome is we were able to photograph both competing attitudes. What’s cool about what we do is that we know someday Blake is going to love these family pictures as well.

2012 Placer County Fair Prints

It’s always a good day when Brown comes to the door. Today is an especially good day because he brought our Placer County Fair entry prints. Between my father and I, we have five prints to enter in to the fair. Here is a peek at what we choose.

Keiki- Hawaiian for Child

I took this photography of my daughter, Audrey, the seconded to last day in Hawaii. This was her  two year birthday photo shoot.  One of my favorites.

Boy and Chick

You may have seen this one from when we did our Easter post back in April. We just loved this so much I wanted to include it this year. This is my nephew Shawn, cutie!

This rock star senior is a good friend of mine.  I knew when I took this photo that I was going to enter it to the fair. She had the most sunning eyes…. Love you Jacqueline!

Vintage Bride

This beauty is Brianna. We actually printed this image on metallic paper for the fair. It’s hard to go looking for images that will lend them selves to metallic paper. Sometimes you are just in the right place at the right time. We happened to be so lucky and with a stunning bride no less!!!!  The photography gods were looking down on us that day. I’m hoping the judges will too.

Hanauma Bay

This tropical sea scape is my father’s only enter this year. Taken while on our vacation to Hawaii, this bay is one of the best places to snorkel on the island. It’s his favorite I know because it also is currently his PCs desktop background.

Here is a shot of Dad last year with his First Place and Best of Show winner–the old truck! You would think we have some attraction to old trucks.   Dare I dream?

Aylstock Photography is now Vintage Creek Photography!

Brittany polishing the new logo!

How exciting it is for me to tell you that Aylstock Photography is now…. drum roll please…. Vintage Creek Photography! This has been a concept of ours for quite some time and we are so thrilled to announce it to all of you now.

I have had such a privilege to work with most of you but for the few clients that I haven’t met, I’d like to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Brittany Butler and I am Roger Aylstock’s daughter. I have been working with the photography business for a few years now but starting today, I will be the primary shooter! Yikes! I’ve got a lot to live up to. I’m thankful and honored that my father feels that I’m ready for the promotion and am diving in head first. Roger will still play a huge role in Vintage Creek Photography so you can still expect to see him.

Not only are you going to be seeing more of me but the whole business will have a different feel and look to it. We have given the name and look of our new company serious time and thought and feel it best matches our new direction. Plus we’ve been told that “Aylstock” is pretty hard to pronounce and spell. Vintage Creek is now specializing in Children’s, Seniors and Family photography. All of our sessions will be custom tailored to you and your individual likes. Our goal is to offer exclusive, one of a kind photography and photo products that you can’t get anywhere else.

Thank you for being our loyal friends and I look forward to seeing you this summer.

This Girl Rocks!

Meet Corinne. She’s Captain of the cheer squad at Granite Bay High, gymnastics coach, soon to be Freshman at Chico State and America’s next top model. This girl rocked it! She was carefree, relaxed and hilarious. We had way too much fun with her….  Be sure to check out her video on YouTube!

Brianna and Ean!

It’s wedding season! We just finished a pretty spectacular one too. Brianna and Ean were the cutest nicest little love birds ever. We were so privileged to be a part of their wedding day and capture the love that they share for each other. Ean is a very lucky guy; not only is his new wife kind, sweet and generous,  she’s stunningly beautiful.  Congratulations to Brianna and Ean!
